So, once again there is a new life given to the so called social media activism, this time due to the much awaited hanging of someone who "should not be named". This has become a kind of ritual of these active social media enthusiasts.this social media has given a new strange sense of responsibility to its users, is there somebody out there who can bring this to their knowledge that tweeting,re-tweeting,sharing and liking statuses once in a while cannot do any good.
This activism has to leave the virtual world and become something for real. They have to understand that their opinions do matter but only following the suit by customary usage of the marvels of modern world isn't going to do much good.
This hyperactivism that is seen today will eventually die down and then suddenly we will see pictures being shared and people writing all sorts of sentimental words about 26/11. This activism should convert from a passive one to an active participation, even a very low conversion rate will do wonders for this country which supposedly has the largest population of youth in the world. The time has come to harness our most important resource.
