Just returned from my dear old school with my mark sheet...the merit list will be out in a week and I'll soon know where my fate will let me enroll in....I have been sitting on the edge of my chair past many days with the tension of my college admission waiting anxiously for the results
I scored 92.36......good enough percent to get in a good college but.....that was when yesterday I'll messaged my friend and got to know that she got in the college that I had desired for and she had scored less than me....not that we should judge people by their marks but spending time with her had let me to the conclusion that I was more deserving than her....then how she got the admission even before the first merit list was out????.......QUOTAS....minority quotas...
And there you see the distinguishing part begins...till school ...it doesn't matter and just out and the differentiation begins..four of my friends who scored less then me got through quotas...three minority and one because she is a scheduled one...and me???.....I am in open category and we open ones are the beneficial ones....I don't think so that anymore
I agree that the backward classes do not get all the resources like we have been offered and that is why this concession at higher level.....always put them first ...no matter if the deserving ones are left behind sulking. We live in a country where we stand for secularism...I think thats what we learned up till now...and now I get to see how secular we are....every individual develops on basis of his caste not capacity...I got good marks and I am still running different colleges to get admission just because I don't have a quota...
I think thats unfair....If you think the backward ones are very unfortunate then even we are not that lucky....if bringing them up is the purpose then it should start at the basic level....
But not in India....and not now making everything unfair..
Thats all I got to say because it hurts when I know how hard I studied the full year to get admission in one of the best colleges on my own merit but not by some quota or donation and when these things come up.....it just says to me what was the use of it???......
