Journey

PAST- I boarded the train to Itanagar, were I was
to meet Rohan. From Itanagar, myself and Rohan
were supposed to go Kharagpur where we were to
meet Varun. It seemed so strange. We were going to
meet after 4 years. After graduation we had
promised to keep in touch but the busy life had
taken over us. Itâ€™s been 4 years now, it
just seems like yesterday. I am a software
engineer in AYC Company and it takes hell lot of
work from us. And at the end I am so exhausted
that I canâ€™t get time even to eat. Many
times I wondered how my buddies would be. How
exciting those days were. As we grow we lose, it
just melts us down. I had no contact information
of Varun, I just knew that he was working in a
cement company as Chief Engineer. There and now I
used to call Rohan and talk with him. He had setup
his own transport business. He was never
interested in studies although.
For me they were world. But my world was lost
somewhere. I am Abhay by the way. It was the same
usual day when I got a call from unknown number.

Usually I donâ€™t pick up unknown calls but
this time however I did. To my surprise it was
Varun, he sounded so enthusiastic. He said to me
that he had planned some kind of reunion.
â€œIt will be only three of us again, only we
three.â€ He had said sounding very much
happy.
I had happily accepted. And he had also informed
Rohan. Varun explained me how difficult it was for
him to find our contact numbers and how many times
he had called my assistant worker. When asked
about where to meet, he said Kharagpur. Kharagpur
was his childhood place. I remember how he used to
cherish those moments spent there. I agreed. We
decided to meet on 24th December.
When I told about our reunion to Veronica, she
seemed happy too. She was one such good
companion, who understood my every bit and my
feelings. She knew how much stressed I was and
wanted me to go and meet my friends. â€œIt
will be change for you, go have fun,â€ she
had said. I wanted to take her too but we had no

girl rule.
PRESENT- Here I am now, sitting in this sleeper
class compartment. I have been travelling since
one and half days and I am exhausted. I am sipping
the coffee and enjoying the cold weather. That
tiny water droplet on the window seems so pure. I
move towards the door of the compartment and stand
near that. Fresh air hits my face, actually it
slowly touches. All pain withers away.
I was seeing them, those trees , those little
houses, they were moving fast and were out of my
sight within seconds. It is so strange, life moves
on very fast.
I just want to drift back to those memories.....
