Monsoon's arrived at last
Ending dry,dusty days
Beginning a season of joy
God's special envoy.
Farmer lifts heavenward glance
Thank You,he whispers
For rewarding my sweat and toil
Enriching my parched soil.
Birds chirp excitedly
Sharing the good news
Leaves dance in ecstasy
Summer looks away in jealousy.
Vadas and Pavs sizzle on fires
cutting chais sell like hot cakes
Couples stroll holding lovestruck hands
desiring to be bound in eternal bands
Children scamper outside
Clapping their hands in glee
Paper boats sail aimlessly
Lashed by rains mercilessly.
Some watch the splendor
From heated, cosy rooms
Not relishing outside air
Their health is their only care.
Splash! lands a huge drop
On my startled, outstretched palm
To me is an excellent lure
From house bondage for sure.
