Let's have some MASTI on wb

I had been thinking the same but never gave it a serious thought. So I am here to express my initial thoughts. I think as I write.

Comments will become attractive and it will be fun but at the same time it may take away the attention from the writing part. Everyone must have noticed by now that most of the times, comments are themselves very well written and are very important.


Many would have read my post on "why we don't have profile pics on WriterBabu"!!

A very thorough analysis is done every time a new feature is introduced. WriterBabu undergoes many changes and improvements everyday but its obvious too that like any system there are many flaws.

What am concerned is that it takes quite a bit of writing skill to convey your thoughts and make a point. We learn a lot while we write because it takes active participation. It involves brain work, you grow as a person while you write. Images make this process very easy, all it takes is just sharing an image. Sure it will be fun because its a very easy alternative to write a comment, its literally like copy-paste someone else's creativity and convey your message that too with impact!!

Also it may create more noise just like the noise on Facebook. Facebook has images, videos, polls, events, notes, check-ins, statuses, links, ads, and the over all experience is very engaging but very tiring as well. Am afraid that if we start images in comments, it will disturb the serene environment of WriterBabu.

I think most of the times it will be convenient and everyone will love it ... but I want to spark a discussion here. I trust WriterBabus will bring forward some valuable insights and view points.

i would prefer it simple.. posting pics is fun but uploading and seeing pics is a big deal for people having slow internet connections..

actually i was thinking, adding pics is gud idea..see, it requires wit n quick thinking too..sometimes words may create misunderstanding needlessly, whereas a pic in its place cd speak volumes..and it's sheer fun too..otherwise we get so boring..

@Mallu: I know you think its a good idea. It your post only ..:P ... adding a pic could be a bad idea ... see it requires no wit n no quick thinking ... pics speak volumes and hence lead to misunderstandings needlessly ... we are already very interesting ... lets not go crazy ... :P

I think that this feature can be introduced... @Srijan As u had said in your first comment, it will make the comments more colourful, this can be the reason to introduce it.

Even after the introduction of this feature, we authors wont lose our power of words... The babus who want to write the comment can write it in words and who wants to post comments thru pics can do the same... It depends on us authors, how we use those features... And maybe sometimes the picture comments can be very useful where we are unable to express our thoughts clearly...

Or the other thing is that, the feature can be introduced on a trial basis and if it has a good response amongst the babus, then it could be made permanent or else it can be removed afterwards... So, i think that the feature can be introduced on a trial basis!!!

I agree with Srijan Srivastava. This is an out of the box idea and I really appreciate it, but I feel it would take the fun and elegance out of putting together words to conjure the image.

Once the feature included it will b copy paste pics all around...hardly ppl hv time to build those pics
